George Everest Peak, Mussoorie

George Everest peak is one of the major attraction of Mussoorie hill station situated about 6 km from Gandhi Chowk (Library Bazaar) at the west end of the Mussoorie Mall Road.
The place is named after Sir George Everest who was British Surveyor General of India from 1830 – 43 and spent much of his time in here, in a house which he also uses as his laboratory. The house is situated in a place from where one can have the panoramic view of Doon Valley and the Aglar River valley on the other side and the snowbound Himalayan ranges on the other. This house is being maintained by the government of Uttarakhand and is open to the tourists all the year round so that the visitors can get a shivering and an enchanting feel of the past.

April to June or Aug to Oct are the best time to visit but one can visit this beautiful place throughout the year.
