Robber's Cave, Dehradun

Robber's Cave is a natural cave formation where rivers flow inside the cave. It is one of the most popular picnic spots in Dehradun, located at a distance of 8 km from the Dehradun city center.
The cave is around 600 meters long and extremely narrow sometimes, with few small and large waterfalls. The cave has the highest fall of about 10 meters.
In the central part of the cave, there is a fort wall structure which is now broken.
Robber's cave popularly known as Guchu Pani, As per belief this place once used by Robbers to hide from Britishers. Hence, the British named it Robber's Cave.

The best time to visit the place is from March to October as summer is good to go into the water inside the cave and on the other hand monsoon, and post-monsoon are preferred to enjoy the greenish beauty. The place is a getaway from the heat of the sun.

How To Reach

By Road- Local bus services are available from Dehradun up to Anarwala Village, from where one has to walk for one kilometre.
By Train- Dehradun is connected by regular train services to cities Delhi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ujjain, Chennai and Varanasi. The Dehradun Railway Station is located 1-2 kilometres away from the city centre.
By Air- Dehradun’s airport is the Jolly Grant Airport, which is located 20 km away from the city centre. Air India, Jet Airways, Jet Konnect and Spice Jet have regular flights to Dehradun.
