Uma Devi temple Temple is a famous attraction of the Karnaparyag dedicated to Goddess Parvati (Daughter of King Himalayas). She got married to Lord Shiva. The temple is very important for the people of Karnaprayag because they believed that Goddess Uma gave appears here to dimri pundit, and told him to build a temple for her at the confluence of the Pindar and the Alaknanda rivers. A grand procession is held every 12 years in which the idol of Goddess Uma is taken out in a grand procession to Dimmer village, believed to be her maternal place.
It is necessary not to consume non-vegetarian food, intoxicants and indulges in sex before visiting it.
The best thing about it is you do not need to haggle with priests for the offering.
Just bow your head and offer anything simple but pious- a bunch of flowers, some coins or a sari to your beloved mother.
